FALL 2020
In October 2020, Conch Shell Productions and HB Studio co-produced a series new comedic one-act plays written by Caribbean American writers.
We thank our co-producer HB Studio, and our growing donor community for their financial contributions that helped make #Bluelightseries 2020 possible.
ABOUT OUR co-PRODUCING relationship
Our Producing Artistic Director, Magaly, is a member of the HB Studio faculty. HB Studio is a school created by theater artists. In April 2020 HB Studio was one of the first acting studios to offer virtual learning opportunities via Zoom. "We want to use the virtual sphere to stay connected and creative, to continue to develop our skills, and to make work that speaks to these times and brings people together," said Edith Meeks, executive and artistic director of the studio.
Inspired by a shared commitment to create art that articulates today’s stories and experiences and "brings people together", Conch Shell Productions & HB Studio agreed to co-produce this live stream theatre experience.

Veronica Vera - Live Stream Designer/Virtual SM
Veronica has stage managed and assistant stage managed for 10 years at various theatre’s in Dallas TX, Kansas, and Honolulu Hawaii. Most recently she has been working in the digital space creating and streaming virtual performances. She has worked with OBS software to help create a new way to tell stories. Sergei Burbank - Dramaturg
Sergei is a New-York-City-based performer, audiobook narrator, playwright, and producer. His plays, articles, and short fiction have been published by Indie Theater Now, NYTheaterNow, Parabasis, Howlround, Baseball Prospectus, and fwriction:review. Past residencies and grants include Centrum, the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, the Puffin Foundation, Other Informed Theatre Company, and Oracle Theatre Inc.
